Over 1.5 goals: scores that win and lose
Over 1.5 goals wins once the second goal goes in, from either side. Over wins with 2 or more goals in the match, and under 1.5 wins with 0 or 1.
| Final score | Total goals | Over 1.5 | Under 1.5 |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0-0 | 0 | Loses | Wins |
| 1-0 or 0-1 | 1 | Loses | Wins |
| 1-1, 2-0 or 0-2 | 2 | Wins | Loses |
| 2-1, 3-0, 2-2 or more | 3+ | Wins | Loses |
The half goal in the line means the bet can never finish level, so there is no refund outcome. Goals count until full time, which SportPesa sets at 90 minutes plus stoppage time. Extra time and penalties stay out, so a cup tie that is 1-0 after 90 minutes loses the over even if it ends 2-1.
At odds of 1.25, KSh 800 on over 1.5 returns KSh 1,000 before tax. The 20% withholding tax takes KSh 40 from the KSh 200 profit, so the payout is KSh 960.
Other lines
Over 0.5, 1.5 and 2.5 in betting
Each goal line asks for one goal more than the whole number in it. Punters asking what is over 1.5 in betting on SportPesa find it under TOTAL GOALS OVER/UNDER – FULL TIME, listed as OVER 1.5 and UNDER 1.5 above OVER 2.5 and the higher lines.
| Line | Over needs | Lowest winning scores | Under wins on |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0.5 | 1 goal | 1-0, 0-1 | 0-0 only |
| 1.5 | 2 goals | 1-1, 2-0, 0-2 | 0-0, 1-0, 0-1 |
| 2.5 | 3 goals | 2-1, 1-2, 3-0, 0-3 | Any score with 2 goals or fewer |
| 3.5 | 4 goals | 2-2, 3-1, 4-0 | Any score with 3 goals or fewer |
The gap between 1.5 and 2.5 is a single goal. A 1-1 draw pays over 1.5 and loses over 2.5, and the odds reflect it: the over 2.5 price is always higher than the over 1.5 price for the same match.
The under side mirrors it. Under 1.5 is a bet on a tight game: a 0-0 or a single goal wins, and a second goal at any point ends it.
Variants
Over 1.5 first half and home team goals
The first-half version counts only goals before the break. SportPesa lists it as TOTAL GOALS OVER/UNDER – HALF TIME, so a 1-1 at half-time wins over 1.5 even if nobody scores after the interval.
Team lines count one side only. In TOTAL GOALS OVER/UNDER HOME TEAM – FULL TIME, OVER 1.50 needs the home team to score twice: if Shabana host a KPL game, a 2-2 wins the pick and a 1-0 Shabana win loses it. The away version works the same way for the visitors.
Combined picks join the goal line to the result. In FULL TIME RESULT + TOTAL GOALS OVER/UNDER, 1 AND OVER [1.5] needs a home win in a match with at least two goals, so 2-1 wins and 1-0 loses. X AND OVER [1.5] is a scoring draw such as 1-1 or 2-2.
Each extra condition raises the price and cuts the number of scores that pay, so the plain full-time line is the one to start with.
Multibet
Over 1.5 in a multibet
Over 1.5 picks carry short odds, so they multiply slowly in a multibet. Four legs at 1.30 each give total odds of 2.8561.
A KSh 500 slip at those odds is worth KSh 1,428.05 before tax. The withholding tax takes KSh 185.61 from the KSh 928.05 profit, leaving a payout of KSh 1,242.44. A single 1-0 or 0-0 among the four loses the lot.
The same four legs reach the 1.30 minimum per pick that SportPesa sets for its multibet bonus, which needs three picks or more. Any bonus on top still depends on all four matches producing two goals.

FAQ
Do own goals count in over 1.5?
Yes. Goal lines look only at the final score, and an own goal moves it like any other goal. SportPesa's rules credit own goals to the side they benefit, so a 1-0 turned into 1-1 by an own goal wins over 1.5.
What is an example of under 1.5 goals?
A 1-0 home win is the classic under 1.5 result, along with 0-1 and 0-0. KSh 300 on under 1.5 at 3.50 returns a possible win of KSh 1,050 on any of those scores and is lost as soon as a second goal goes in.
