The bet
What over 1.5 means on your betslip
Over 1.5 on a Kenyan betslip is a bet on two goals or more in the match, from either side. The half goal in the line means a draw at 1-1 already wins it, while 1-0 and 0-0 lose it.
The market sits under “Total goals” or “Over/Under” at most bookmakers, next to the 2.5 line. Over 1.5 wins more often than over 2.5, so its odds are shorter: a 78% pick is worth 1.28 at a fair price.
Under 1.5 is the other side of the same market. It wins only on 0-0, 1-0 and 0-1, and it pays well when a low-scoring game is expected.
The numbers
How the over 1.5 chance is worked out
Each match gets an expected goals figure for both sides from the same model as the main tip: bookmaker odds at 65% weight and the league table at 35%. The chance of two goals or more follows from those two figures.
A match with 1.6 expected goals for the home side and 1.2 for the visitors gives over 1.5 a chance of about 77%. When both sides sit below one expected goal, the chance drops under 60%.
From 80% an over 1.5 pick earns the Strong label and from 72% the Fair one; the rest are Lean and leave the weekly record alone.
Tomorrow
Over 1.5 tips for tomorrow’s games
Over 1.5 tips for the next day arrive game by game, each about a day and a half before its kick-off, sorted with the surest two-goal game on top and KPL rows placed by their chance like any other.
KPL games score fewer goals than the European leagues, so KPL rows sit lower on the over 1.5 list. This season only 48% of KPL results have reached two goals.
Each row links to the match page, where the over 1.5 price sits on the odds board next to the 2.5 line. Over 1.5 predictions for tomorrow settle on 90 minutes, like every other pick on the list.
Multibet
Over 1.5 in a multibet: short odds, real risk
Over 1.5 legs are popular in Kenyan multibets because each one looks safe. Five legs at 80% each land together only 33% of the time, while five prices of 1.25 multiply to 3.05.
At 1.25 a leg needs to win 80% of the time to pay its way. A pick at 85% priced at 1.25 has value; a pick at 75% at the same price does not.
Two or three Strong over 1.5 legs make a steadier slip than six of them, and a KSh 500 stake on two legs at 1.28 returns KSh 819.
Two legs at 82% land together about 67% of the time, close to the 64% that their combined price implies.
Record
How the over 1.5 picks did in the last 7 days
Seven days of graded over 1.5 calls are counted here, every one beside the final score of its match.
At 80% a week’s picks should land about four in five. The football prediction results page holds the 30-day record of the main tips for comparison.
A loss on a 1-0 or a goalless draw is plain to see next to the pick. Strong calls from 80% lose roughly one game in five across a month, Fair calls from 72% a little more, and the window rolls forward a day at a time.
Only the over side is graded here; under 1.5 prices sit on each match page odds board.
Over 1.5 FAQ
Does a 1-1 draw win over 1.5 goals?
Any score with at least two goals in the 90 minutes, from either team: 1-1, 2-0 and 3-2 all win it. The bet loses only on a 0-0, a 1-0 or a 0-1.
Is over 1.5 a safe bet?
It is one of the likelier markets, but no pick is certain. A tip at 80% still loses one time in five, often on a 1-0 or a goalless draw.
Does a goal in extra time count for over 1.5?
No. Over 1.5 is settled at the end of 90 minutes and stoppage time, so extra-time goals in a cup tie leave the bet as it stood.
Which leagues give the most over 1.5 wins?
This season Serie A has gone over 1.5 in 84% of games and the Bundesliga in 81%. The KPL sits at 48%, so KPL over 1.5 picks are rarer.
