When Confederation Cup games start in Kenya

The CAF Confederation Cup is Africa’s second club competition, for national cup winners and the clubs placed just below the champions in the stronger leagues. Ties run from the preliminary rounds in autumn to the final in spring.

Kick-off follows the home club’s time zone. Morocco and Algeria are two hours behind Nairobi this winter, Ghana three hours behind, and Egypt and South Africa one hour behind, so a 19:00 local start reads anywhere from 20:00 to 22:00 EAT.

The early rounds are two-legged knockout ties. A club that wins its home leg 2-0 goes into the return game with a cushion, and the second-leg prices reflect it.

Which Kenyan club plays in the CAF Confederation Cup?

The slot goes to the winner of Kenya's national cup competition, run by FKF, in line with CAF entry rules for national cup winners.

How does a two-legged tie work?

Each club plays once at home. The aggregate score over the two games decides who goes through, with penalties after the second leg when it is level.

They follow the home city: a 19:00 start in Morocco reads 21:00 EAT this winter, and a 16:00 start in Accra reads 19:00 EAT.

How many games are in a Confederation Cup group?

Six for each club. Four clubs meet home and away, and the top two of each group go on to the quarter-finals.
